Tea for Two Layout

Hubby is away tonight so I am spending my Valentine evening catching up on some crafting and admin!

Despite it being 14th Feb, I have not done a love themed project but I wanted to share a layout that I have completed using the Tea for Two papers from the Spring/Summer Catalogue.  These are beautiful and lend themselves to vintage style projects, although I think the colours work well giving a modern twist.

This was a quick layout to complete with just a bit of cutting and sticking.  The most time consuming part was waiting for the Crystal Effects to dry on the round embellishment at the bottom of the photo that I wanted to give a vintage broach type feel to.

The girl in the photo is my Mum and as soon as I saw these papers knew where this photo was going.  In this layout, I want my journalling to be very private so it will be written onto a tag and inserted into the back of the photo which has been attached as a pocket.

Product List:

Tea for two

Good evening,

Tonight I wanted to share quickly a card that I made using some of the new designer series papers that are available in the Spring Summer Catalogue.

The series is called Tea for Two and is bringing Spring into our lives with the beautiful coordinating colours.

I also added a paper doilie, Island Indigo cards, a splash of sunshine with So Saffron card, some bakers twine and a vintage faceted button - all available through either the main catalogue or the Spring Summer one.

It's boosted my mood on this cold Winter night.

See you soon,

Sam x

Canvas Bag

Well, have you settled into this week yet?  I have started on Valentines Day projects but more of that once he's had his card .....

I wanted to share with you something I made a while back but didn't post as I was waiting for the 1st February and the release of the Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer Catalogue.

On Sunday I had a training session with some fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  Everyone that attended made swaps for each other and I chose to decorate canvas bags for everyone using a gorgeous new fabric that is available in the new SS catalogue. I made 12 to give away and received some beautiful products from my fellow demonstrators in return.

The fabric is called More Amore Designer Fabric & is even more lovely in real life than in the book.  It coordinates to a paper series, cardstock and of course some of the most gorgeous ink colours that are available.

Products used :
Plain Canvas bag (available from good Craft stores)
More Amore Designer Fabric (S/S 129307)
Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies (S/S 130159)
Beautiful Wings Embosslits (AC 118138)
Seam Binding Ribbon in Pool Party (AC 125582)
Flower Trim (S/S 126869)
Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set (AC 120501)
Primrose Petals Ink - 2012-2014 In Colour (AC 126858)

If you would like a copy of the Spring Summer (SS) Catalogue, please drop me an email at and I will be happy to post one out to you.

Best wishes,

Vintage Style Card

I have been making some vintage style cards and one of my favourite paper series to use is the Fan Fair DSP.

On the card in this example, I have used the Fancy Fan embossing folder on cardstock in the corner but I have also added a little touch of my own by using an embossing folder as a background stamp over the pink paper.

This technique is easy to do by gently tapping a large ink pad over the raised side of an embossing folder and pressing it onto your paper or card.  To create a lighter image, I tend to very softly dab at the inked folder before stamping.

This is a great way to coordinate your cards and scrapbook layouts.

In this card I have used crumb cake paper, fan fair DSP, Creative Elements stamp, some very vanilla seam binding and - of course for the ultimate in vintage - one of the gorgeous vintage faceted designer buttons.

You may also notice I have added some lace under the binding.  This is a stamped image using a builder wheel stamp - Viola's Lace.  This was stamped onto very vanilla paper using Early Espresso ink and cut.  I love the effect of this stamp which gives a real vintage addition to your projects.

I will post again soon with news of great offers and a tempt of some gorgeous new products.

Happy crafting.
