Christmas Class

Hello,

Last Saturday we held our Christmas workshop.  It seems odd crafting for Christmas when our weather is being so good to us still but needs must and crafting our Christmas projects, for me, always needs to happen about now because we are always so busy with other things later in the year.  We had mince pies and a Christmas tree and lots of samples of Christmas projects.

As soon as I saw the mini treat boxes in the seasonal catalogue, I knew that I wanted to make a project with them.  I had already been in the process of making boxes to do a box advent calendar at our workshop but the treat boxes provided a fabulous solution as they are cut, scored and ready for decorating with no glue required to stick each box together.  The stamp set 25 Days provided the perfect partner to this project.

I took this photo at home just before I stuck all of the boxes together.  To enable me to open the boxes, I attached little tabs..you can see a couple.

Our second morning project had been inspired from Pinterest using the Lovely as a Tree set and vellum to make an LED tealight holder.  The tree does have some glitter on but it doesn't show up too well here.

The afternoon projects were prepared by Tena and our guests did two cards and a mini cracker using the envelope punch board.   Everyone had different papers from the mini stack available in the seasonal catalogue and decorated the top of the cracker to their own taste.  I so wish I had taken a photo of one cracker as our guest had used the little leftover cut-aways from the envelope punch board and stuck them together to make a 3d mini ornament.  It was such a fabulous idea and looked stunning.

If you would like to place an order from either the Annual or the Seasonal catalogue....or both....then please do get in contact with me. I can also answer any questions you may have about the products or about joining my team as an independent demonstrator.

If you would like to attend our next workshop, this will be held on the 22nd November 2014.  More details can be found under the "events" tab above.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the week.

Thank you for stopping by.

Best wishes,

I love Lace

Good evening,

I wanted to share with you my first project using the I Love Lace stamp.  This stamp is truly gorgeous and as soon as I saw it, knew exactly how I could use it on a project I had been thinking about.

This card is for a family member who will soon be undergoing reconstruction surgery following breast cancer.  This has been a well thought out decision (surgery - not my card!) which has been one heck of a journey for her.  She has many reasons for choosing reconstruction and I know she will also be looking forward to wearing a pretty bra again.  I hope this card celebrates that aspect without taking away how amazing and brave she is.

My card uses Strawberry Slush card and ribbon with a black ink for the lace.  Basic pearl jewels embellish it.  The bra cups were made using the scallop circle die.

My best wishes to you all, wherever you are and whatever your journey.

Hello & welcome,

I don't know about you but it's been a busy Summer and here on the south coast of the UK we have been lucky to have some great weather.

I have not crafted much over the warmer weather but I am now preparing for our next workshop on the 20th September and also working on some personal projects. At our workshop, we will be using some of the gorgeous products from the new Seasonal Catalogue to make a selection of Christmas projects.  There are limited spaces available so if you would like to join us, please get in touch.  There is a £5 non-refundable deposit payable on booking and all we ask is that you enjoy your day, relax and let us look after you while you craft.

The seasonal catalogue is filled with lovely Christmas and other holiday products and I was spoilt for choice when I had my pre-order.

You will find the link to the catalogue on the bar to the right of this page - I hope you are as inspired as I was when you see the products and ideas.

If you would like to place an order through me, host a party where you could earn free hostess pounds to spend (including in the seasonal catalogue) and a thank you gift or attend a workshop then please contact me at wightman82@googlemail.com

July Workshop

Welcome and I hope you are all sharing some of the lovely weather we are having here on the south coast of the UK.

Yesterday Tena & I were joined by 14 lovely ladies for a rather warm workshop.  Despite the heat - I am not complaining as it's gone all too soon and it wasn't forecast - we still managed to enjoy ourselves and welcomed new faces too.

We were excited to be able to share the new Annual Catalogue in our workshop and to show off some of the lovely new products that are available.

The ladies started with my cards and then after a cold buffet lunch, the ladies moved onto Tena's projects.

Unfortunately my photos did not come out particularly well as the light was not great.  For this card, we used Blushing Bride.
Soft sky for the boy card - such a great colour.  We used the new Something for Baby coordinating stamps and dies.  What a beautiful collection.

As soon as I saw this stamp it was on my list!  It stamps fabulously and has such a great vintage feel about it.  The daisies were made using the flower punch from the new Itty Bitty Accents punch set. Great value as you get three punches for £15.50.  I picked up the tips for making cute little daisies from one of Michelle Last's tutorials on You Tube Here

A card for the chaps was a must as we often overlook them!  Two new stamps used in this card - World Map and Traveler.

Three cute mini cards were demonstrated after lunch

Beautiful notebook project.  This project has so many ideas - brag book, recipe book, mini album, little girl diary or even just a lovely book to keep on my desk for those spur of the moment crafting ideas

The final project of the day certainly woke our ladies up again!  I love the effect of this card but keep putting off making it myself!

If you would like a copy of the new Annual Catalogue which is packed full of project ideas as well as the new and returning products, please do get in touch with me.

Thank you for stopping by.  I wish you a great week.

Best wishes,

Workshop Projects

Hello and welcome,

Yesterday was hot here on the south coast for our May workshop and we were joined by some regular and a new lady at our class.

Tena prepared three projects. The first one was a box made using an 8x8" piece of dsp which was all folded with an embellished lid. Some of our ladies made their own lid designs using the available products we had available.  Tena had found this design on another demonstrator's website which I will get hold of so we can credit her work.

The second project was a card design using the crepe paper to make a flower embellishment coloured using ink. This is a great way to add depth to a card which you would like to post as the flower will squish down because its so soft.

And the final project of the morning was some stamping and heat embossing.

After lunch, I demonstrated samples which used the Fresh Prints DSP.  A gorgeous selection of coordinating colours in one pad!  The pad is outstanding value for money and the size of the double sided, substantial weighted paper makes them ideal for card fronts.

For the first card we made a a pinwheel which are so quick and easy to make.  A wooden stirrer was cut in half to make the stick.

I enjoy sewing on projects...sometimes.....as those who know me know that I don't always have the patience with a needle but sometimes a project just lends itself to a little extra.  I have used the linen thread as this gives a thicker stitch than cotton....and coordinates with the crumb cake colour beautifully

The tag on this card was made using the tag topper punch stamped with the hardwood stamp - one of my favourite (current) purchases

And finally we did a shadow box card.  This one was a quick and easy one because the scoring was done by scoring on one end of the dsp and on the other end of the white background card.  So easy to do and really effective.  Some ideas were sourced online with alterations.

There are places available for our next workshop on the 12th July and if you would like to join us, please do get in contact.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Bet wishes,

Jack in a Box

Welcome,

In one of our workshops a while ago, we completed a box frame project.  I gave my sample away as a gift to my Cousin as it was her gorgeous daughter I had used a photo of.  She was so pleased with it that she asked me to make one with a photo of her son when he was smaller.  My Cousin will be pleased to know that I have finally got round to completing it.  I am pleased with the result although a couple of the rosettes are a little wonky (I don't get on particularly well with a hot glue gun!)

Jack as a sleeping baby
I have used the subtles papers which are a collection of the most scrumptious colours and the patterned papers are from the subtles Designer Series paper stack which at £19.40 for 40 sheets of double sided cardstock is excellent value. Co-ordinating buttons add the finishing touch.

Just a quick post tonight.  I hope whatever your weekend holds, wherever you are, you have a lovely one.

Best wishes,

Epic Day

Hello and welcome,

Today I wanted to share with you a layout that I did last night using the Epic Day This and That paper series.  Stampin' Up have a range of products which coordinate with this paper - a journal that has printed sheets and pockets, stickers and washi tape but I had some spare offcuts that were perfect for this layout.  The stitching was done by hand using linen thread which I split to make it a single thread.

The wooden embellishments are available in the spring/summer catalogue and I can see loads of possibilities with more layouts and cards too.  I inked the edges of the chevrons and banner and stamped the banner using a word stamp.  I put the arrow through my Big Shot with the woodgrain embossing folder (there was a tense moment) but it came out ok.

Before I became a Stampin' Up Demonstrator I was a customer and hosted several in-house parties where I benefitted from free Hostess products as well as enjoying evenings with friends.  One of the draws for me to Stampin' Up is that everything co-ordinates and that makes it easy to make beautiful projects, sometimes in a hurry because of our busy lives.  This layout is another good example of how by having co-ordinating products, completing a layout can be achieved in under an hour, leaving time to spend creating more memories with my lovely family.

If you would like more information about any of the products used in my project, hosting a party, attending a workshop or having an informal chat about becoming a Stampin' Up Demonstrator then drop me an email.

Wishing you all a very happy Easter.

Best wishes,

Fabulous scrapbooking news

Hello and welcome,

Today brings not only gorgeous weather but also brilliant news for the scrapbooking fans among us. Stampin' Up have announced they have partnered with the amazing Becky Higgins to bring you authentic Project Life products, that will be available in exclusive Stampin’ Up! colours and designs.

Project Life is a super simple, totally affordable way to get your photos into albums: you just slip your photos into Photo Pocket Pages and add designed cards. It’s a back-to-basics approach to documenting your life. In a nutshell, it’s all about spending more time making memories and less time scrapbooking them.

Stampin' Up will be offering a complete Project Life product line in the new annual catalogue, available beginning 1 July, but you will also be able to order a selection of Project Life products a few weeks earlier than that! Watch this space....
I am currently at the stage of scoping out a suitable venue to hold an evening scrapbook class in the Gosport area and if there is enough interest, possibly hold a morning  or afternoon session on a Saturday. This is in the early stages but I would love to hear from you if you would be interested in attending.
Enjoy the rest of your week. Fingers crossed that we are blessed with more sunshine.
Thank you for stopping by.

February Class

Hello and welcome,

Yesterday we held our February class.  We were joined by 16 lovely ladies who joined us for 4 projects, lots of fun and some scrummy homemade cake.

Both Tena and I have been really impressed with the Envelope Punch Board and have been using it alot.  For me, I like to have equipment that does a bit more than it says on the tin and to be able to use it to make other projects aside from envelopes really impresses me.  It's so quick and easy to use too which is another bonus.

With permission, I was inspired by another project I had recently seen which made a box using the envelope punch board and one sheet of 12x12 paper - no cutting and no glue - perfect.  This box can be used in so many different ways and I decided to add a surprise inside to this design.....

The smaller box and bow were also made using the envelope punch board.  I really love the vibrancy of the Birthday Basics designer series paper which has some gorgeous fun coordinating colours.  The inner box can be made to open which would be great for adding a little gift.  Two tiers would also make a fabulous wedding or birthday cake.

We also made another card in the morning using the Birthday Basics dsp but I forgot to photograph that one!

After lunch Tena had prepared card making projects.

There was a choice with the tri-shutter cards, depending on whether you wanted three or four panels.  There was a flurry of activity and it was lovely to see some new crafters producing work they couldn't believe they had made.  That really is one of the things I love about being a Stampin' Up Demonstrator.

If you'd like to join us in our April class, we would really like to meet you.  This will be held on 5th April 10am-4pm.  Please email me for further information or to book.

I wish you all a great week.

Best wishes,

Out of the page cards

Hello,

The run up to Valentines' Day was a busy one as I made 14 cards for some of the chaps in mine and my Husband's office....not from me of course!  They had the opportunity to earn extra brownie points by having a card made with the bonus that they didn't have to go to the shops and buy one.

This card is actually very simple to make and can be adapted for every occasion.

The feedback is that all cards were very happily received and loved.  Happiness all round!

Earlier in the month I had made a card for my friend's 40th Birthday.  As I had been busy playing with the Envelope Punch Board I wanted to use that but also love the exploding card effect so I combined the two with some adaptions to the exploding card, using only the main body of the card.

The flower stamp set used for this card is the Petite Petals which is available from the Spring/Summer Catalogue.  This can be purchased in a bundle with the coordinating punch.

Thank you for stopping by.

Best wishes,
