Yesterday we held a workshop focusing on Easter and Spring where our ladies made projects using our subtles colours which, for me, always reflect Spring beautifully.
One of our projects was an Easter card made using punches and dies.
One of the things I enjoy about our workshops is that we encourage our ladies to alter the project designs to suit them if they wish, so it was lovely to see some of the cards made which celebrated birthdays rather than Easter and used the Butterfly thinlets and the embosslits to create fabulous butterflies amongst flowers. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos of some of the alternative projects and I wish I had as I really would love to CASE them. Copy and sharing is one of the joys of being part of the wonderful crafting community and whilst I designed this card, the bunny bottom (!) was copied from the internet where I have seen it replicated in different formats....I just loved the bobbly tail.
Tena had prepared 4 quick projects for our ladies to and I will post pictures once I have them as I didn't take photos.
I also designed a project using the Basket bigz die and again added some flowers and a butterfly. The ladies were also given a chocolate egg and large gold chocolate bunny to pop in their baskets as a treat.
To line the basket we simply cut another basket with coordinating paper and glued it to the card before assembling the basket. I find this die really easy to use and I can't wait to use it as gift baskets for friends' birthdays filled with treats and gifts.
During the workshop we had the opportunity to expand on the use of the dies and the materials they cut. Aly gave a demonstration of various fabrics the dies cut and today I decided I would do some playing of my own with some felt and a couple of my favourite Stampin' Up dies. I am so happy with the results.....
I used the spiral flower die to create some flowers and everything stuck together really well using a hot glue gun.
If you would like to join us at our April workshop, this will be held on Saturday 26th April in Gosport. Our workshops include at least four projects, treats, all beverages, cakes and lunch. We hold a raffle and have an inspiration table of samples. The day runs from 10am - 4pm and costs £20. If you would like to book, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Wishing you a fabulous week.
